Services For Brain Injury’s (SBI) Employment Services provide guidance and direction in the development of job search techniques and appropriate work-related behaviors that will enhance employability. Employment Services components provide assistance in the development of job search skills, coordination of job search activities, and identification of appropriate job openings. Employment Retention services are designed to support our clients and employers in achieving successful employment.

Supported employment services should achieve the following outcomes: opportunity to earn equitable wages and other employment-related benefits, development of new skills, increased community participation, enhanced self-esteem, increased consumer empowerment, and quality of life.
The types of supported employment services used depend on the needs of individual clients.

Employment Services Intake  
A thorough interview is performed to review and assess the appropriateness and availability of the clients job choices. The clients prior work history experiences and performances will also be reviewed in order to develop a plan of employment specific to each client.

Employment Preparation Services  
After determining if the client is ready to pursue employment, they will participate in the several activities which include the following.
  • Interviewing techniques
  • Resume development
  • Application preparation
  • Appropriate work behaviors and work ethics
  • Relevant work practices
  • Appropriate grooming and hygiene
  • Assistance with benefits planning related to employment
  • Job Club networking/support group

Job Development and Placement  
Once the client is prepared to engage in job search activities, Services for Brain Injury assists our clients in identifying appropriate job openings, contacting perspective employers, negotiate needed job accommodations, and assist client in the interview process.
